# Can I re-audit a lead's website?

Yes. Open any lead, click **Re-Audit** at the top, and a fresh scan runs in 12–25 seconds. The new score and findings overwrite the old ones, but the previous run is kept in the audit history chart for trend comparison.

## What re-auditing is for

A re-audit answers 1 of 3 questions: did the prospect fix anything since I last looked? does the score look the same a week later (so I can pitch with confidence)? did a recent site redesign break something I can lead with? The same audit pipeline runs every time, so 2 audits 30 days apart are directly comparable.

Think of it like reweighing yourself the next morning. Same scale, same conditions, real movement.

## How it works in LemAudit

Click **Re-Audit** on the lead detail page and the request hits the run-audit edge function with the lead's stored URL. The latest run becomes the "current" row in the audits table; older runs stay around and feed the historical trend chart you see on the [lead detail page](/help/leads/what-information-does-a-lead-detail-page-show). The [score](/help/audits/how-is-the-health-score-calculated) and [issue list](/help/audits/what-types-of-issues-does-the-audit-find) update on the same page within 30 seconds.

For batch refreshes across many leads, the [automatic re-audit loop](/help/advanced/how-does-automatic-re-auditing-work) re-runs scheduled leads at 3am UTC daily.

## Worked example

An agency audited a dental practice on day 1 (score 41) and pitched a 3-month engagement. The dentist passed. Day 18, the agency clicked **Re-Audit** before a follow-up call. Score had dropped to 36 because the dentist had added 6MB of unoptimised photos. The agency opened the call with that exact change, and closed a $2,400 retainer.

## When this isn't right

Re-auditing more than once a day on the same URL is wasted budget; nothing meaningful changes that fast. Each re-audit counts toward your [monthly audit limit](/help/billing/what-are-audit-limits-per-plan). For long-term tracking across many leads, a dedicated rank tracker is a better tool than weekly re-audits.
